Cryopump Without Controller

A cryopump without a controller is a type of vacuum pump that operates based on the principle of cryocondensation, where gaseous substances are bound to the cold surfaces within the pump. These pumps are designed to generate high or ultra-high vacuums and are particularly effective for applications where all gases need to be efficiently pumped。

Cryopumps without electric regeneration systems rely on purging the pump's interior with a dry, pre-warmed inert gas, such as nitrogen, to warm it up to room temperature. This method does not allow for setting up defined and controlled temperatures within the cryopump, which means that the simultaneous presence of gases like hydrogen and oxygen cannot be entirely avoided, and the formation of ignitable gas mixtures is only prevented by the diluting effect of the dry inert gas。

These pumps are known for their compact design compared to similar systems offering high pumping speeds, and they require a backing pump only during start-up and regeneration。 They offer a favorable price-to-performance ratio and low operating costs, especially at higher pumping speeds. The cryopumps are cooled by well-proven two-stage cold heads, which can achieve operating temperatures of 45 to 80 K for the first stage and 10 to 20 K for the second stage, depending on the type of pump and operating conditions。

For operation, cryopumps without a fully automatic control and without an electric regeneration system belong to the BasicLine (BL), and the warming up process is fully automatic. However, without a controller, the pressure and temperature distribution within the pump are not continuously monitored and controlled, which can affect the safety and efficiency of the regeneration process.
